My family is obsessed with Santiago. We have had so much fun every time we have visited. Its traditional Chilean culture meets the modern big city in the best way possible. Spend a couple days or even two weeks exploring Santiago and everything the surrounding parts of Chile have to offer. You will not be disappointed.

We have stayed here twice and love the location and layout. The rooftop pool is an excellent spot for catching some sun or enjoying sunset cocktails. They also host a great NYE party.

To Do
Cerro San Cristobol
Take a cable car or bus (or WALK) up this famous hill. At the midway point, you'll find a zoo and wine museum, and at the very top, a statue of the Virgin Mary overlooking the city. Go here during summer for the best views.
Los Dominicos Village
A charming little village with local arts and crafts, shops, and cafes.
Caijon Del Maipo
This is a must-do, in my opinion. After a couple miles, you'll stop for lunch provided by the tour at a stunning river. Look up, and you'll see a snow-covered volcano in the distance. Stop by the natural hot springs for a soak on the way back.
Day trip to Valpairaso and Vina Del Mar
An easy and highly recommended day trip from Santiago. Viña Del Mar and Valparaiso are two spectacular cities on the water. Wander the hills of Viña Del Mar, and if you're there in summer, take some time on the beaches of Valparaiso.
Casa Blanca Valley Wine Tasting
Each time we visit Santiago, we come here for a tasting and picnic. The wines are delicious, and the grounds are unique, complete with friendly alpacas. I highly suggest relaxing under a shady tree with their freshly made picnic lunch.
Barrio Bellavista
A vibrant, trendy neighborhood in Santiago filled with color, restaurants, and bars.
Peluqueria Francesca – restaurant and barbershop
This is definitely unique to Santiago. Have lunch at this French-inspired restaurant and then head to the other room for a traditional straight blade shave.
Barrio Yungay
After some lunch and a shave, explore the vibrant neighborhood surrounding Peluqueria Francesca.
La Vega Central
La Vega Central is a massive market space in Santiago. You could spend hours there. Sample local fruits and pastries or get a whole feast to cook up at home.
Visit the Plaza de Armas
A large historic square in the city's center with the Metropolitan Cathedral, Museum of Sacred Art, National Museum of History, and City Hall.
